DARK BAY Virtual Production Studio enables all kinds of filming to be produced under completely new creative parameters and production facilities. Digital backgrounds are already pre-produced as 3D worlds for the shoot and projected onto a LED screen around any physical set. The environment on the LED screen is linked to the camera and can move along with the camera’s movement, thus creating the illusion of a real environment from every possible angle.
Thanks to its dimensions, the DARK BAY volume leaves nothing to be desired in terms of virtual film production: With the 180.5-feets-circumfeerence, 23-feet-high and 270° curved LED wall consisting of a total of 1470 state-of-the-art ROE Ruby 2.3 panels DARK BAY is one of the biggest and most innovative virtual production stages in the world.
Digital backgrounds can now be created in advance as a 3D world and displayed on the LED elements of DARK BAY for filming. Powered by the Unreal© Engine, virtual environments are interactively played on the LED wall in real time and CG worlds immerse talent and production crew, capturing dynamic visual effects in-camera.
Be it huge interiors, such as historic castles, entire post-apocalyptic worlds or unreachable sets like the surface of the moon — at DARK BAY Virtual Production Studio filmmakers’ creative visions are no longer limited.
